Am I the only one who thinks they are severely underrated? I mean, I get that people might not like Freddie's tone, but their compositional power and understanding of harmonies was basically unmatched at the time. I think they should be held to the same level as many 19th century composers.

I don't think they're quite that innovative from a composing standpoint, but I do think they deserve a lot of appreciation for how they were able to produce that type of an effect with their voices in the recording studio. "Bohemian Rhapsody" is absolutely one of the greatest pieces of music of the 20th century, though, regardless of genre. The modulations, the harmonic intricacies, the melody; it stands well against pretty much everything released in the past 100 years or so.
